Salam, This tutorial is very simple and very helpful. Thanx for the simple tips for applying fake eye lashes. One question! The fake lashes are numbered. Is there a particular fake eye lash that needs to be determined when buying?

Alaikum asalaam Sadaf! Thank you, that was my intention. I wanted to make a really simple and easy tutorial so everyone can wear false lashes! The numbers on each lash represent a style as do the names of the eyelash, so use your best judgement and buy the lashes that you think will best suit your eye shape. If you have small eyes don’t buy a pair of lashes that are really long and wispy. Instead buy a more dense pair! If you have bigger eyes than you can experiment a little more and buy a pair that is more long or a little more dramatic. Let me know how it goes!

Salaam Danica, I just have one question what type of Ardell false eyelashes are you using in the video because my eye shape is similar to yours i wanted them to be very natural as i’ll be wearing them with my day time makeup. Im based in england right now so the only other false eyelashes we have is Eylure and NYC. please suggest which one i should buy im so confused.

Alaikum as-salaam and Ramadan Mubarak Sameera! Thanks for commenting. In the eyelash tutorial I used “Claudia” lashes by Ardell, but really if you are going to be wearing them for day time try “demi wispies” my all time favorite! I wear those on a daily basis! Just don’t pick out a really long or thick pair and you will be fine.

Thank you! I enjoyed your tutorial. I realized what I need to do the next time around! You made it look so easy. The times I tried applying fake lashes - it was a disaster. So thank you again. I will use your techniques that I learned today

Hey Danica,
You are awesome! I am 31 year old, French, and I am ashamed to admit that I have no idea on how to put makeup on. So I spent the last week reading reviews on makeupalley and watching all your tutorials, and I have to admit I feel so overwhelmed… Although you take us by the hand and guide us, I feel I will never been able to achieve such amazing results as you do. Anyway, I know have the makeup, the tools and I think I am finally ready to experiment.
One question regarding this tutorial:
When you put fake eyelashes, do you have to take them off every night or can you leave them on a few days? How do you take them off without plucking your real eyelashes?!?
Thanks you so much for your help, Danica!

Oups, me again sorry. So fake-eyelashes are only one time use or can you re-use them? If you can, how and with what product do you clean the part where you applied the glue?
Thanks, Danica!

Hi Gwen, thank you for commenting! That is great that you have decided to really start getting into makeup. I applaud you! It can be very overwhelming when you are just beginning and you see so many techniques and products. The best advice I can give you is to start very simple and with just a few products. Mascara, concealer, blush and lipstick or lip gloss are a few products that will give you a great look and not be too much for everyday. When applying false lashes you want to wear them just for the day and then take them off at night. You can reuse them around 7-10 times depending on the shape they have kept. When you do reuse them simply just peel off the old glue and apply a fresh layer. Taking them off for the night is just as simple!Grab the end of the lash and pull! I hope this helps!

Thanks a lot Danica for your encouragements and your explanations! I am going to see a ballet performance in a few weeks, I’ll try the fake eyelashes for the occasion.
You are truly a giving person: I guess a lot of women know how to do their makeup, but you did not keep that selfishely for yourself. You chose to share your passion, your tricks with us and show us the way to a great & fun makeup step by step. So now it is my turn to applaud you Danica for your generosity!

Great tutorials! Thanks so much! Could you please do a tutorial for individual lashes and as well as those small clumps of lashes? Also, I usually use waterproof mascara with a full makeup look. It’s difficult to build waterproof mascara after it’s dry, without clumping, so what do you suggest when it comes to adding the mascara after the false lashes? If I used non-waterproof first and followed up with waterproof - would that work and still be waterproof?

Hi Judith,
That is a good idea to do a tutorial on individual lashes and/ or small clumps of lashes! I will do that:) Yes the trouble with most waterproof mascaras is that they can be “tacky” at times and are not the easiest formulas to build. You can try using a non waterproof mascara first then finishing with a waterproof like you suggested, to be honest I have never tried that. You may want to try another brand of mascara as well and see if that improves! Thanks for writing!

Hey Danica!
I am having a prom to go to pretty soon. My eyes are pretty big for asian eyes, but the lashes are a bit short. I bought the Ardell Fashion Lashes 110. I tried to put them on without the glue to see how it looks like, and I’m a bit scared. I know a lot who have worn them from another prom I’ve gone to, and sometimes it looks a little overwhelming and you can tell they’re not real. I just want it to look natural— also, I’m going to be wearing a color fluidline from MAC (the lavender looking one). Would that look weird with false lashes?
Thanks again!

Okay, so my question is……..how do you apply undereye lashes? And, how do I get that glamorous, all day fresh makeup lookk like celebrities….my makeup seems to be gone in an hour or two. Is it the quality? I have never bought anything outside the cosmetics aisle in the local target. I am 34 now, and needing help with skin care, and I want a much more glamorous look. I have big dark eyes and really want that big eyed and smokey look!
